“Sitting on a bedroom floor crying is something that makes you feel really alone. If someone’s singing about that feeling, you feel bonded to that person. That’s the only way I can find an explanation for why 55,000 people would want to come see me sing.” – Taylor Swift
Creative people tend to dream big and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves. That’s good, right? It gets the job DONE!
Some people are what we call “HSP”, Highly Sensitive People. I feel that I can identify myself as such. So, it might be a lot to handle if we just keep pushing. Hell, with enough pressure anyone would burst!
If you’re interested in seeing if you are too, check out this test. Also, you can read Dr. Elaine N. Aron’s book “The Highly Sensitive Person”.
What I can recommend doing when things get to be too much is to cry. Especially for us men who’ve taught that we can’t really be vulnerable. But it goes for anyone.
It really releases the tension and reminds us to take things down a notch. We might be pressing too hard. It’s ok to not be perfect and in control all of the time.
Also, there could be some health benefits as well, especially if you’re stressed out!
