“The World Cup experience is more than just the game of soccer. It’s an event. And it will fly by faster than you think. It will end and you’ll be saying, ‘Wow, it’s over already?’ You have to remember to take it all in and enjoy it.” – Cobi Jones
I remember the summer of ’94 vividly. The World Cup was being played in the US and me and my friends spent the entire summer playing football (soccer for you ‘mericans!) pretending to be Roberto Baggio, Romário, Kennet Andersson etc. What made it extra memorable was that Sweden brought home the bronze medal.
Now, 20 years later, I got that same kind of great feeling.
I was watching the Brazilian national anthem and I got the chills. Wow. There’s something really powerful when people sing and join together. It becomes bigger than the individuals. A Swedish study has shown that people who sing in choir don’t only synchronize their voices. They synchronize their heartbeats too.
