The Flea That Fled

“Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.” – Henry Ford

Sometimes life, circumstances or other people seem to dictate what we can and cannot do. Growing up we get told things like “you’re lazy”, “you’re stupid” or “you’ll never get anywhere”. If we get told that story enough sooner or later we start to believe it.

If we’re lucky we have people tell us “you’re driven”, “you’re smart” and “you’re bound to succeed”. We start to get another view of ourselves.

Sure, we have different advantages and disadvantages. Those can limit our possibilities if we let them. It can also force us to become more creative and find another way to do what we want to do.

If there’s any doubt in our hearts or heads that we can accomplish something great in our lives we should remember that we are not fleas. We have a choice. To either accept what other people tell us that we are or choose to be who we actually are.

Be the flea that fled.
